[Part 2] 062. A day out with Group 5 in Everland and Anam

When I first heard that there would be a KUBA Field Trip in October, I thought that we would be going out of Seoul to Gyeongju or Jeongju or somewhere but it turned out to be a trip to Everland! It was good because we paid a discounted rate of 22,000KRW instead of the normal 37,000KRW for admission and buses were also chartered to bring us to Yongin from school.
My 3rd time at Everland :) Autumn's a good time to visit amusement parks (except on rainy days)!
Meeting point
Jaehyun's and my breakfast...Kim Tak Gu bread!

Ready for Halloween

With Emi's Japanese friend who got a hairband together with me (6,000KRW!). I'll wear this to Lotte World too.

It was a nice long ride; a 3 minutes long roller coaster ride with my hair flying all over my face. I love taking roller coasters and actually, the only fear/gripe I have about taking roller coasters is whether the safety belt, buckles and stuff are secure because i don't want to fly out of the carriage and die. Other than that, I love the adrenaline rush from taking roller coasters. Yes, there's this side of me. But recently, I found that I've kind of lost the ability to really scream on a roller coaster. All I feel is "so what's next?" Youngwoong was like my rides partner for the day so he kind of bore the brunt of my "screams" and poor Jaehyun got forced into taking the T-express!

Really cute boy who waved back at us.
I almost died after taking this ride...I felt like a ragdoll being flung around, except that I was strapped in my seat.

Trying again
Another roller coaster ride on the Rolling X-Train which includes 2 360 deg turns.

While waiting for an available cubicle
Still no available ones :(
After taking this shot, the light drizzle turned into rain which explains the absence of photos of Everland after this. Someone bought us raincoats after we took the wet Flume Ride...but the damage had already been done: the Flume Ride left me with a wet bag and fringe. In fact, my fringe never dried until I was in the bus on my way back to Anam. So for the rest of our time spent in Everland (about 2 hours in the rain), I wrapped myself up in a raincoat. We also took the Bumper Car ride which I initially wanted to avoid. I've never liked rides like the Bumper Car because I don't like to bang into people. And secondly, I've always doubted my "driving" skill but the ride turned out to be fine and I think I "drove" well one-handedly most of the time, just like my brother. Just that he does this in real life even though he has only just obtained his license on 7 September so this really freaks my parents out. I drive with 2 hands tightly griping the steering wheel but he drives with only 1 hand on the wheel. Great job, brother!
We were on the last bus back to Anam. I bet the bus ride back was really quiet because everyone, I suppose, slept throughout the whole journey. I was so tired! We had dinner at Biya before adjourning to a drink house for beer and soju. There was an empty seat in front of Mattia but I avoided it and sat with Youngwoong and Jimmy instead because I knew Mattia would make me drink. I can't drink like an Italian. I don't even drink like a Singaporean...I've never even drank Tiger Beer before -.-

The night was still early (as usual) so we went to Armba for more drinks. But actually, most of us didn't want to drink because we were full. Only Eric and Mattia wanted to drink so we just sat around and talked until 10pm when Jaehyun, Jimmy and Timmy left. I wanted to leave as well but Youngwoong and Emi didn't want to leave yet (she was waiting for Jimin) so I stayed behind with them. Youngwoong's right. I can afford to stay out late because I live just 2 minutes away from Armba whereas Jaehyun and Jimmy take 1 hour+ to go home. Later on, Jimin came back with Miika who's my Korean class classmate. We chatted for quite sometime and Miika successfully got me to drink but I shared it with Youngwoong. I guess I should really have fun here because I am only on exchange once in my life and I can never turn the clock back to live the life I am leading now. So I drank with Youngwoong till 12am before I gave up because I couldn't stay awake and my contact lens made my eyes really dry. Thanks for walking me home, Youngwoong!
I returned to my hostel to see these 2 parcels from Gmarket waiting for me. I think I need to do an exchange for the grey jeggings because the condition isn't very good. There's a very visible white patch on the left side of it. I hope the return and exchange that I need to do will go smoothly because it's my first time doing so!
Also, I found out that Tan Mingwei, the ex-RGS & RJC girl, Cambridge medical student and A*Star Scholar who was killed in a hit and run accident in London yesterday is Joanna's RJ classmate. Even though I don't know her personally, I've seen her around in school in RGS & RJC and I am really saddened by the news. She died on her birthday. Such a brilliant person with a bright future who met such a tragic end! I've to be really careful here when crossing the roads, especially with Korea operating on a left hand drive system. Everyone, where ever you are, be it in Singapore or overseas, please be careful! But then again, I believe that things are fated. And just like my fear of driving...even if I were a safe driver, others may not be safe drivers and sometimes, accidents just cannot be prevented.
Today, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's wife, Mrs Lee, also passed away. 2 deaths of 2 brilliant persons on consecutive days. RIP, Mrs Lee!

hi, if we were to take the thriller rides (hurricane, rolling stone, etc) is it necessary to wear cover shoes or is it ok to wear flip flop?

It’s better to wear covered shoes. If you’re going to wear flip flops, you probably have to leave them by the side when you take the rides!
