My Consumer Behaviour group is my favourite project group in KU! After class, we discussed our group project over lunch near the main gate and the guys treated Yuhong and I to lunch.
Initially, I thought that I wouldn't have the chance to go for a Halloween Party because I'll be in Jeju from 29 October till 1 November. But thankfully, the KUBA Halloween Party at Club Mass in Gangnam was tonight, and not on 31 October or something! I also wanted to go for the Halloween Party at Barfly organized by IBC (including Miika and Alejandro) but it's on the 30th.
For a few days, I pondered over what to wear for the party as I didn't want to spend too much money on an outfit I'll only wear once. So I decided to dress up as a scary princess with the intention of getting a tiara to match my wine-colour chiffon dress which I got from Ewha Women's University shopping street last month. When I was in Dongdaemun last night, I found quite a number of stalls selling tiaras but I changed my mind and decided not to get one. I actually have 2 tiara hair accessories back in Singapore and I've never worn them out before so there's pretty much no point in getting another one here and wearing it just for tonight. Hence, I decided to do away with the tiara and just go in my chiffon dress, falsies, dark red lipstick and my hair styled for 20,000KRW in a hair salon in Anam to look like a glamourous vampire. In Korea, styling is referred to as du-ra-ee-ha-da 드라이하다. Alright, I suck at romanizing and basically, it just means "dry". Funny, isn't it? I don't get why it's called "dry" but it is. Actually, the hair salon also offered hair and makeup service and I was keen on getting everything done there but when I learnt of the 60,000KRW price tag and saw my disgustingly styled hair, I decided that it was best to take things into my own hands.
I wanted my hair to be styled like this:
But my hair is too short so the stylist said it was best that I let it down instead of pinning it to the side which I wanted. But when she let my hair down, it was so gross, so awful! The curls were big but weird when not pinned to the side. I mean I know she knew that I'm going for a Halloween party where there will be some people dressed up as freaks but she didn't have to do that to my hair -.- In the end, I just paid up and rushed back to my room which was just 1 minute away and started pinning up my hair myself. Thankfully, Jeannie had a packet of black hairpins because I only had 3 mismatched hairpins from Accessorize!
I spent about 1 hour trying to do up my stupid business case for Strategic Management. It's not a difficult case but it's just really tedious and I didn't have the luxury of time to pour through it and give my 100% which I wanted to. After 1 hour, I gave up and accompanied Jeannie as she had her dinner in a nearby eatery. I got a Clio liquid eyeliner (apparently the most popular one in Korea now) for 15,000KRW from Olive Young, dark red lipstick for 8,000KRW and falsies from the newly opened Etude House in Anam for 4,000KRW (a sales assistant put on the falsies for me but she seemed really unsure of how to do it and my eyes got really red after awhile) before heading back to my room and submitting a shoddily done case analysis to my group members before walking to Kenneth's place to help him with his makeup. We went as vampire siblings. I hate myself for submitting substandard work but I really, really, really didn't have time. Everything's in a mess and so rushed these days. I'm leaving for Jeju tomorrow and I haven't even packed!
By the time we reached Gangnam, it was already 10pm and we had a very late dinner consisting of 감자탕 and side dishes before walking over to Club Mass.
The party actually started at 8.30pm and by the time we reached the club, the contests and performances were over. The queue to enter the club was so long and slow moving that we had to wait in the cold for nearly an hour! And the horror didn't end when we finally entered the club. We had to put our stuff at the cloak check area which was crazily packed with everyone pushing. I almost died there. Even on the dance floor, it was so crowded that after awhile, we felt really hot and went outside the club for a breather where we met most of friends outside the convenience store drinking. Our gathering point was outside the club and not inside the club. haha. I met many friends: Jimmy, Emi, Jimin, Young Woong, Jaeho, Sandy, Chris, Eric, Brian, Yuya, Raus, Mattia, Giorgio, Kristian, freaky German guy who freaked me out exactly 1 week ago, and Jeannie's friends from her group. Basically, we went into the club to dance for awhile and when it got too hot, we went out for fresh air in the cold, went back in again, and went out again to get drinks (no, we didn't get alcohol; in fact, we didn't even collect our free drinks at the bar) and ate at Burger Kings before calling it a night and heading back to Anam in a taxi with Sandy and his Korean friend. I sat in the front, beside the taxi driver and the ajusshi kept talking to me when I was trying to sleep! Argh.
Oh yes, one thing to note, don't sit near the entrance in any eatery along the road because it gets really cold whenever people open or close the doors! I nearly froze to death in Burger Kings because of that.
