[Part 1] 189. A day in Seoul

Today, I made a day trip up to Seoul to meet J who was on transit.

There’s a direct bus (#200) from school to 구포역 Gupo Station, which is nearer than Busan Station but by the time I reached the bus stop, the next bus would only come after 17 minutes and I was running late so I took a cab to 덕포역 before taking the subway and reaching the platform 10 minutes before the train arrived. Phew! The last time I took the KTX out of Busan, I missed my train and I was so terrified about missing it again :(
And again, I didn’t even finish reading one chapter :(
My train arrived in Seoul slightly late but it was perfect timing because J had just arrived too and he gave me my favourite jelly :)
This is my alcohol. I get high on this.
Given that somebody didn’t like taking the subway, we cabbed from Seoul Station to Sinsadong and the cab fare wasn’t too expensive; it was under 10,000원if I remember correctly. I lost my way for awhile because I forgot that to get to Garusogil, you should get to exit 8 of Sinsa Station but I kept thinking that it was exit 5 ㅠㅜ And I should have told the driver to take us to Garusogil and not Sinsa Station. So smart :(
Garusogil has changed quite a bit! It has been more than 2 years since I last came here. Oh, the memories...
The cafe with the bear outside is still around
We had brunch for 9,900원 and the portion was big! Fries were quite alright, a bit soggy though.
After brunch, we went to the nice cafe I had spotted earlier for drinks.
I love Garosugil…lots of pretty and quaint cafes!
And after tea, I walked past the Pitera House again and after watching so many SK-II Pitera House advertisements on Youtube, I felt that since I was in Seoul, I should check out the promotions and…Oops. Yeah, like major OOPS. I have to eat grass for the rest of this month (well the month’s ending soon anyway).
English Breakfast 5,500원
From Sinsadong, we cabbed to Gangnam for him to take a mandatory shot with the station name and I kinda forced him to take the subway to Myeongdong. Collected my Asian Beauty Club Gold member gift from Sulwhasoo at Lotte, which turned out to be ginseng sweets which seem pretty expensive. I received a SMS from Sulwhasoo not too long ago, asking me to collect my welcome gift from Lotte’s main branch so I went to the one in Seomyeon BUT was told that my main branch is in Seoul and not Busan -.-

I wanted to bring him to the Myeongdong Gyoza restaurant for dinner but I was running late and we ended up cabbing to Seoul Station where I had my dinner in Bizeun, the rice cake place and my dinner wasn’t so good because I ordered the pumpkin porridge which tasted more like pumpkin soup than porridge and most of all, I didn’t like the taste. It was so bad that I almost puked. Thank goodness I bought the honey rice cake balls too so I wasn’t hungry on my way back to Busan.
The bus ride from Gupo Station back to school was only 15 minutes long. Next time, I’ll take the KTX from Gupo instead of going all the way down to Busan Station which is so far away.
