There’s a 30% off everything sale at ABC Mart but when I think about the shoes in my shoe cabinet and how I have to move everything up to Seoul next year, I think I should not buy anymore shoes.
We met Nay and Sonia and had hot chocolate and chicken at Burger King while waiting for Daniel and Valentina to arrive. Don’t buy the wing pack from Burger King. It’s not worth it…10,000원 for like 10 small pieces of chicken when you can have more at a cheaper price in a Korean chicken eatery. We were dumbfounded when we saw the contents of the box.
Nay brought us to this wonderful eatery somewhere in Seomyeon. This place is really complicated. There are so many little alleys here and there and I realised that there are many nice cafes and eateries there. I’ll have to check out Seomyeon more often next year for nice places to eat at, instead of shopping places.
We had such a great time…the final bill came up to 88,500원 for 6 persons and we had 2 big & delicious bowls of 칼국수, at least 5 plates of 계란말이, 2 plates of pajeon, some spicy chicken dish, 2 jugs of 굴 막걸리 honey makkori, 2 jugs of blueberry 막걸리, 1 jug of 복분자 raspberry/blackcurrant 막걸리, 1 jug of 살구 apricot 막거리 and at least 1 bottle of soju. It was my first time drinking flavoured makkori and it was GOOD. I love this place. I don’t mind coming down from Seoul next year just to go to this eatery.

Oh, I think there’s one in Dongnae too.
Anyway, as usual, I didn’t drink much because I don’t like alcohol but I just wanted to try flavoured makkori. And before I knew it, most of my friends got drunk. Actually, I didn’t know when they were drunk until they really started acting weird. Like Nay and H started complaining about how stressful it is to be a guy when (Korean) girls always want to know whether they have a house (or have money to buy a house), whether they have money, etc. But it’s not just in Korea actually. When I was young, and even now, my mum always tells me to marry a good husband, preferably one who has $$$ or is a doctor. And then she would tell my brother that he has to study really hard, get a good job and earn big bucks, if not no girls will want him. We had discussions about why I should drink more, and about poverty, the differences between the West and the East, etc.
And then someone else got really drunk so we decided to call it a night and left. And that drunk person insisted that he knew how to get to the subway station but he led us in the wrong direction. Lol.
Nevertheless, we managed to make it back to the dorm before our curfew of 1am.
It was a good night in the company of my wonderful friends :)
