[Part 1] 118. Christmas Eve & 연말행사

There wasn’t any class for today because we had our EOY event 연말행사 from 1.30-6pm.
At 11am, we had a brief rehearsal on stage to mark out our standing positions before going to our classroom to have our full-dress rehearsal.

We won the 2nd prize for our skit and received 100,000원 E-mart/Homeplus vouchers (can’t remember which one it is that we received). There wasn’t much time on stage…everything happened so fast! We had minor slip-ups here and there but overall, we had the audience in stitches and I felt that we did better than the Chinese class that got the 1st prize. Even quite a few teachers felt the same way too. But we didn’t participate in this to win anything. We did so for our class, and as a class, and to even win a prize was just unexpected. I’m just glad that everything’s over so that I have my afternoons and evenings free from rehearsals. We tried to speak as slowly as possible so that our friends in Level 1 could understand our story.

Opening address

My steak lines. Luckily I didn’t say 오빠 instead of 아빠. I kept making this mistake during rehearsals. But it’s true that my oppa doesn’t have much money :’(

Couldn’t resist a giggle when Rodigro’s face was flashed on the screen. We didn’t tell him about this beforehand. Oops. Hope you weren’t offended! 

Twinkle

Our very short dance segment. Overstrained my neck during rehearsals and it hurt really bad for a week. 

We looked like ghosts dancing lol. This was just to show our pants/leggings under the skirts for fun. 

OMG this scene was soooo funny! The rice stuck to Ikbol’s face during rehearsals but not during the actual play. It dropped onto the floor and he actually picked it up and ate it! And at the last part, Kawita accidentally flicked out some rice which Baby managed to catch and ate too lol. 

Jonathan was in the wrong position and he wriggled his way to a position that the audience could clearly see him

We cut and painted the saw and the pumpkin last night too. Major fail…the pumpkin flopped down and everyone saw the balloon. 

Ikbol didn’t have time to wear his rich man’s hanbok properly and ended up on stage like that

My monster scene

We borrowed the masks from the traditional mask dance troupe. My mask couldn’t quite stay in place. We didn’t wear them fully because we were afraid that our words won’t be heard if we did so. 

Major fail. Pan’s shoe flew out when she “kicked” Samy. We couldn’t stop laughing. Haiz. 

Baby was late because she was helping Hung with her hanbok and unni had to dance alone for awhile

Calling for Jonathan because Samy pushed him so hard off the main stage. Sigh. This Samy. 

OMG you have to watch this part. My friend in the green skirt accidentally held on to my friend’s orange skirt instead of her hand and pulled up her skirt by mistake when she bowed. Hung was so embarrassed even though she had pants underneath lol! 

Hairstyles (rehearsal | actual play)- luckily I decided to wear my hair the normal way in the end. Looked so fat with my hair poofy!

Back in the hostel, we had quite a pathetic Christmas Eve dinner in the cafeteria while my family was in a hotel having a wonderful buffet dinner. Oh wells.
