[Part 3] 141. Lotte World

I've now embarked on the final leg of my Korea Trip 2010 :( While most of my friends left today, I spent the 1st day of Part 3 of my journey here in Lotte World. It was a good day to go because school was over so we had all the time in the world. Furthermore, it was the last day for us to enjoy the student discount of 25,000KRW for entry instead of 37,000KRW for adults. For 27,000KRW, we could ice-skate as well so we took the 27,000KRW tickets even though I couldn't ice-skate. BUT it was a bad day to go because for some reason, there were many high school kids there! I think there was some field trip of sorts and the queues for rides were crazily long. We spent more time queueing for the rides than taking them :(
The first ride I wanted to take was the Atlantis- my usual routine at Lotte World but the wait was at least 40 minutes so we headed for Gyro Drop which I had never taken before. Right after I got into the queue, I heard Singlish behind me and found a group of Singaporean tourists queueing up behind me. It's so distinctive that it made me turn at the very instant I heard it. Something so familiar that reminded me of home and for the rest of the day, I kept hearing people speaking in Singlish in Lotte World. So many Singaporeans! I'm not sure if the group behind me heard me speak English in my Singaporean accent mixed with Korean every now and then to YW. But I'm no Jeannie...though I was tempted to do what she would have done then- turn around and start talking to them.
Anyway, back to the crowd in Lotte World...after taking Gyro Drop, we headed back indoor to check out the queues for the other rides inside. Every now and then, we would walk out to the Magic Island (the name of the outdoor area) to check on the queues but ended up taking photos there instead because of the horrible queues :( The crowd diminished towards the end of the day and we didn't have to wait long for our rides but that also meant queueing and taking the rides in the cold. Nevertheless, it was a great day spent at Lotte World in the span of 12 hours and I'll leave you with the photos.
