The Busan International Fireworks Festival display was supposed to be held yesterday but thanks to the rain, it was postponed to today which is great because if it were held yesterday, I wouldn’t have been able to watch it because I was in Ulsan. But then, we couldn’t decide whether to go or not because of the expected crowd. Also, I remember my rather bad experience trying to catch the fireworks in Seoul back in 2010 which ended up with me walking on a bridge across the Hangang looking for my friends while trying to catch glimpses of the fireworks between people’s legs because they were all standing on the side rails -.- At long last, we decided to go but then we had to wait for Samy who only replied us at 7.30pm asking if we could meet him at 7.40pm in the dorm when the fireworks were due to start at 8pm -.- Going down to Gwangali would take us about an hour or so which basically meant that the fireworks display would have ended by the time we reached there. SO WE DIDN’T GO TO GWANGALI -.- My only full year in Busan and I didn’t catch the 50mins long fireworks display :(
So I made Samy buy us ice cream as compensation and he did.
We ended up going to Sasang because the boys wanted to play soccer (the virtual way). I spent most of the time watching the couple beside us playing the zombie game which I chickened out of the last time I tried playing it with YW. The wii방 here is a pretty cool concept which I don’t think Singapore has yet. The guys paid 4,600원 for an hour but they smartly made me pay 600원 by giving the excuse that they didn’t have coins. So I paid 600원 for being a spectator for their soccer game when I actually spent most of the time watching the couple and their zombie game?! -.-
We cabbed back to dorm and the driver was impressed by Samy (and maybe me too) for being able to speak in Korean. We had a pretty interesting conversation. The cab fare amounted to 3,100원 and again I had to pay an extra 100원 because they “didn’t have coins”. I’m gonna say I HAVE NO COINS next time. How smart of them.
