I think my limit is 4 rolls of kimbab because I was so full after eating them!
You know you're very hairy when a little boy sits beside you in the car and the first thing he does is to pluck your leg hair -_- That's exactly what Tae Hoon did to me.
After brunch, 어머님 let us alight opposite Home Plus and she told us to cross over to take the bus. Strangely, 어머님 gave Jeannie and I different pieces of information: back in the apartment, she told me to go to Sopoong at New Core to take the bus but she told Jeannie to take the bus from the bus stop at opposite side of the road. I didn't know that she had told Jeannie that and when we walked past the bus stop, I didn't see bus 9800 on the board and told Jeannie that wasn't the bus stop. But when we walked over to the bus terminal, we couldn't find bus 9800! We found a map that stated where bus 9800 stops at and when we reached the bus stop, we realised that it was the one that we had walked past earlier and the one Jeannie said 어머님 had told her to take the bus from -_- Sorry Jeannie! We walked such a big round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
The 2,500KRW bus ride to the Express Bus Terminal in Gangnam was about an hour long. While the clothes there are cheap, the crowd was terrible. It was so crowded, stuffy and claustrophobic that I only managed to purchase a t-shirt for 5,000KRW before I escaped to Shinsegae for air-con and indulged in some cosmetics shopping at Benefit: High beam for 35,000KRW and the Porefessional for 42,000KRW.

Later on, I went back to the underground shopping area to look for Jeannie before we went to Shinsegae together to look for Longchamp. I think I'll get the Argile colour. It's 170,000KRW so it's cheaper to get it from France especially if you have a minimum expenditure of 175 euros in a single receipt which makes you eligible for tax refund.
We went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream fondue for 12,000KRW before heading to the bookstore where I bought Vogue Girl for 5,500KRW and shopping at Accessorize.
Later on, we took the subway to Gangnam Station to meet Jeannie's friends, Isabelle and Wendy. Isabelle's Korean friend, Nic/Nick, who's studying at MSU in the States, met us and brought us to a nearby eatery for dinner.
Dinner was interesting because things kept dropping and our conversation was peppered with English, Singlish, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian and some Spanish by Nic/Nick. Nic dropped the rice bowl cover, one of the waitresses dropped our plate of raw meat on Nic's bench (we put it there because there was no space on our table) and I dropped the plate of salad as I was trying to peel off a piece of ddeok for Isabelle and pushed against the plate. Jeannie's shoe was a little stained :( Sorry Jeannie! Our table was seriously too small!
Nic said that I look like a mixed blood...Chinese & European! haha.
It was nice meeting Jeannie's friends and we left at around 10pm for our long ride back to Bucheon. We had a bit of a drama again when we couldn't find the correct bus stop to take bus 9800 from. Jeannie asked this woman for help at the bus stop and her friend/bf/husband came over to help us. He's really good in English and directed us to the correct bus stop. Alas, it was in the middle of nowhere! Alright, it was in the middle of the road, like a little island and we didn't quite know how to cross over so we just walked on what's not meant for pedestrians and soon found ourselves between oncoming buses moving in opposite directions on our left and right. It was so scary and we almost died! We also got honked at by a bus driver -_- anyhow, we managed to make it to the bus stop alive but were the last 2 to board the bus so we were the only 2 standing throughout the entire 1 hour express bus ride back to Bucheon as there were no seats. Actually, the bus driver told us that there were no seats available but nevertheless, Jeannie and I boarded the bus because we had no idea when the next bus would arrive and it was already quite late so we didn't have much of a choice.
Over here in Korea, we actually get quite a lot of stares from the Koreans the minute we mutter a word of English. They stare at us as though we are aliens, which in truth, we are, according to their definition of foreigners. Foreigners staying in Korea, be it for work or school or anything (except for tourists, I think) need foreign identification cards and that card is called the "Alien Registration Card". So we are aliens here afterall! During the bus ride, people stared at us and there was this guy who kept turning back to look at us...we just have to get used to this!
Alright, time to move on to the next blog entry!
