[Part 1] 4. 1st shopping trip in Busan

Finally...a day that I could just relax and do whatever I wanted without adhering to a tight schedule.
Most importantly, I could wake up at whatever time I wanted to :)

My side of the room is more or less tidied up, but I’m still waiting for my parcel to arrive so that I can use my Vanity Trove boxes as storage boxes for my jewellery and hair accessories. I need to get a basket for my skincare and hair products too. I love doing up my room, it’s so exciting! But the frustrating thing is that I have to move up to Seoul after a year -.- Wish I were in Seoul the whole time so that I don’t have to worry about moving up with all my belongings. Oh wells, I will try to make the best of my time in Busan!

My roommate and I left our room at around 4.25pm and managed to catch the shuttle bus. We weren’t sure where (because Mr Yun said that the bus stops in front of the Global Town which is quite ambiguous) and at what time to take the bus (because Mr Yun said that it comes at every 30 mins interval but I think he meant that bus at Sasang Station). Anyway, the bus that we boarded didn’t take us to the subway station -.- It stopped at the small bus stop just in front of the main bus stop where public buses stop at in the university and we were asked to alight. We walked to the main bus stop and took bus #62 out of the university. We weren’t sure where to alight at but thank goodness for the bus stop directory that was inside the bus and we finally alighted at Lucky Apartment where Jurye Station (on Line 2) is.
Global Town (female dormitory’s the building on the right)
At 주레역 Jurye Station
At the station, both of us bought Busan’s version of T-money- the 하나로카드 Busan Hanaro for 6,000원. Apparently, T-money can be used in Busan too, but it can only be recharged in post offices and selected stores (couldn’t understand the last bit of what a Korean lady was trying to tell me).
My 하나로카드 and my dormitory key
We took the train down to Centum City, which is also on Line 2 and just a few stops away from Haeundae. My 1st shopping stop: Chanel Beauty in Shinsegae for an eyeliner (36,000원) that wasn’t available in Changi Airport’s DFS.
I went for a flash makeover at Chanel Beauty the Sunday before I left Singapore and I really love the Fall colours that I had on me: Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 88 Noir Intense, Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in 38 Premier Regard, Inimitable Intense Mascara Multi-dimensional Sophistique in 10 Noir, Le Sourcil De Chanel Perfect Brows, Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 72 Rose Initiale, Lumiere D'artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder with Shimmer and Rouge Coco Shine in 74 Parfait. I only had my Etude House BB cream on before I went for the makeover. I’m a big fan of Chanel makeup :) After the makeover, I knew that the eyeliner was a must-buy. I like the blush too but I still have my tea rose. Rouge Coco Shine in Parfait is a very nice and natural colour too but I recently bought the Naturale after doing a flash makeover too. I CANNOT buy any more lipsticks :(

We checked out H&M on the 3rd & 4th floor of Shinsegae but didn’t buy anything. Instead, we spent a long time at Kyobo Bookstore choosing TOPIK books and cute stationery. I miss shopping for stationery in Korea. Everything’s so cute! Haven’t found any Artbox stores though.
I wanted to buy a reading desk 독서대 for 16,000원 but the cherry colour I wanted was OOS. Guess it was a blessing in disguise that it wasn’t available because I found the exact same one on Gmarket when I got back for only 12,900원. I’ve changed: I think for a longer period before making any purchases and I no longer spend so much. Alright, I’m penny wise, pound foolish. Right after shopping at Kyobo, I went to Lotte’s Swarovski counter and bought the Hello Kitty Swarovski pen that I’ve been eyeing for quite some time for 64,000원. Again, I wanted to buy it at Changi’s DFS but I couldn’t find a Swarovski shop. Ok, I will stop spending so much on branded items.

I had 갈비탕 galbitang (beef rib soup) at Lotte Department Store’s food court for 8,000원 for dinner. It was really delicious and one of my fullest meal in a long while!
The kid didn’t quite resemble his parents...his mum was, very pretty/plastic?
One of my favourite Korean food
We left for Sasang Station after dinner where I had my skincare shopping fix at Skinfood and then Etude House before we took the cab back to our hostel for 3,000원. It’s more worth it to take the taxi than the bus and it would have been better if there were more of us to split the cost! Also, I think it’s not safe for us to walk back to our dormitory from the bus stop at night because the area is quite dark. I’ll take photos of my campus soon!

My buys:
Spent so much :(
My studying materials
Ribbon winder
My pretty pen
Skinfood: special tonic (6 packs), 3 masks and black sugar mask. Received some samples too.
I really like Skinfood’s special tonic that works as a toner. 1 pack can actually last for 2 usages but I opened the whole pack and had to finish it up in one go because I didn’t want it to get contaminated overnight. My skin feels plumper and more moisturised. I’ll probably use this once a week and stock up on it once my current supply runs out. 3,000원 for 6 packs!
Bought the volumer to use with my BB cream, hair products, mask, cotton pads and gradation nail polishes. Got a free earrings stand for spending above 40,000원.

Hi Clara,
I enjoyed reading your blog ^^ I remembered I saw Artbox when I came out from exit 3 of Jagalchi Station. I think I walked about 4 mins straight from the exit before I have to cross the road. Cross the small road and I saw Artbox on my left, where rows of shops and street food are located. Its quite a big outlet. Not sure if this infor is useful to u.
Much envy that u can be in Korea! Enjoy your stay!

regards,
Yun
