We had lunch at Murphy's Diner near the main gate...service was bad because we waited forever and I ended up not going for Korean class by the time our food was finally ready. While waiting, I walked over to the tailor's because a button had fallen off my coat. There's something about me and buttons. A button from each of my 2 other winter coats and a cardigan also dropped out. I wanted to leave my coat there and collect it after lunch so I didn't bring my wallet along. But the tailor was so nice! She said it was too cold outside and she refused to let me leave the shop without my coat, even after I had told her that I didn't have my wallet with me and wanted to come back later to collect it and pay up. She said that I'm a foreigner so it's alright; if I were a Korean, she would charge me for the sewing work!

Dearest Yuhong let me off from our group meeting for International Financial Management so that I could go to Ewha Women's University to meet Jaeyoung unni earlier and take photos at the beautiful campus. So after school, I rushed back to my room to get my camera and just as I was about to leave my room, lo and behold, I found a FREAKING house centipede on my wall near my luggage. Something like this:

You have ABSOLUTELY no idea how terrified I was! Normally, in such a situation, I would yell for my brother to save me and kill it. But unfortunately, I was alone. I was supposed to meet Jaeyoung unni at 4pm but I discovered the centipede at 3pm. For awhile, I couldn't decide whether to kill it or to forget about it and just leave because I was running late. But I figured I didn't want to see it on my bed when I got back or something so I decided to hunt it down because it had disappeared under my hand luggage. With no insecticide or whatsoever in my room, I resorted to using my Dettol spray for whatever effect it might have on the centipede, cleared all the junk in the corner of my room by the door where I had first discovered it, pushed my luggage away and found it on the wall. I hate using my bare hands to touch any creatures so I had no choice...but to grab the vacuum cleaner from the laundry room and vacuumed it in :( Now I don't even dare to use that vacuum cleaner anymore for fear that the centipede might come out when I use it. By the time I finally left my room, it was 3.30pm and the journey to Ewha took 45 minutes. Thank you, centipede. And it certainly didn't help that I slept throughout the subway ride and nearly missed my stop, waking up only after it was announced that the train was at Edae. Phew!
Anyway, I wished that I had gone around Seoul taking photos earlier. I saw the pretty autumn foliage around and thought to myself, how pretty, I'll take photos of them one day! And by the time I got to taking photos, the leaves had already fallen :( Likewise in Edae...most of the leaves have already fallen with the screwed up weather this year. I heard that this is the coldest autumn for Korea! It's been a long while since I met Jaeyoung unni...since 4th August!!! So we went to a cafe in the school, had drinks and did some catching up. You know you're truly in a women's university when the cafe in the school is diet-friendly. Jaeyoung unni bought me a chocolate drink and I was expecting a sweet drink but it wasn't. No sugar, low calorie. |

We had a very delicious dinner at a Chinese eatery in one of the small lanes of the shopping area before window shopping and proceeding to Hongdae, which is just 2 stops away, to catch KBS Good Morning Pops broadcast live in the building beside Luxury 수 노래방.

At 9.30pm, I met Young Woong at the station and we went in search of a birthday present for Kristian before going to Oversound bar beside NB2 where Kristian and Thomas' 2-in-1 birthday party was held at. I saw a really beautiful scarf in Zara but it was 69,000KRW, way out of budget :( Eventually, we bought a scarf from one of the street stalls for him. We didn't stay there for long and went to Caffe Bene after passing Kristian his present and wishing the birthday boys happy birthday. Caffe Bene is my favourite cafe chain in Korea. I absolutely love the ambience there and I really wish that there are similar cafes in Singapore! The one in Hongdae is 24 hours!
