After my International Financial Management group meeting in the morning, the only Korean guy in our group brought us to an Indian restaurant near the main gate where the 3 of us (him- Junghyun, Yuhong and I) had naan with curry. It was nice but I would have preferred chicken briyani which was sold out in the restaurant by 1 or 2pm :( It was amazing though, that the Indian service staff in the restaurant could speak Korean well! I hope that one day, I'll be able to speak Korean fluently but that one day seems eons away. I haven't improved my competency in the language a single bit since I arrived on 2 August :(
I spent the rest of my day editing over 600 photos to upload unto Facebook before meeting Young Woong in the evening and catching a Korean Traditional Dance performance called 이화에 월백하고 in Gwanghwamun at 7.30pm. I love the dances and the music! The hanboks that the dancers wore were so beautiful too. Ever since I watched the Hwangjini drama, I've been in love with Korean traditional dances so I was really happy when Young Woong got the tickets from his sister and brought me to catch the performance!
After the performance ended about 80 minutes later, we went to an eatery nearby where I had 회덮밥. Today was the start of the Seoul Lantern Festival in Cheonggyecheon and it ends on the 14th. Do take note that the lights turn off at 11pm so you want to check out the lanterns, go earlier! When I found out about the festival, I marked it in my planner and planned to go on a weekday next week when it's (hopefully) not so crowded. But since we were in Gwanghwamun which is really near to the stream, we decided to check out the Festival and it was so crowded! But nevertheless, the lanterns were lovely and we had a nice long stroll along the stream :)
