Day 9: 7 July 2009 Tuesday

Today, we (Alpha, Yi Hui, Yuek Ling and I) went to Dongdaemun 동대문.

Even though it was my 3rd time there within 5 days, I've yet to find the exit nearest the shopping malls and we ended up walking for quite a distance because the traffic light junction was too far away :( When will I ever learn?

I made a mistake the other day, I went to Hello A PM and Megabox (not Doota). Dongdaemun's Migliore has more stuff than the one in Ewha 이대. But frankly speaking, I'm quite sick of Dongdaemun 동대문 because the items sold are similar at each stall and you're just hunting for the best price which can only be found on Gmarket. I got a top for 30,000원 on Saturday and I felt so accomplished when I managed to bargain with the seller and got it at that price instead of the original 38,000원.  But when I got back to my dormitory, I saw the exact piece on Gmarket for 26,000원. However, I'll still go back to Dongdaemun 동대문 because I've yet to check out the night/wholesale market and that means another night out again.

A small eatery we went to for lunch. It was my 2nd time there and this time round, I ordered the water cold noodles 물 냉면 instead of the bibimp cold noodles 비빔 냉면 (which was too spicy for me). I don't mind going there again because I like the ambience there even though the place is quite tiny. For 5,000원, you get a bowl of cold noodles and chicken meat 고기. The eatery only sells cold noodles, i.e. 냉면만.

I like Doota even though the items are pricier because of the mall's layout.

It was a day of shopping for us (more for them since I didn't buy much today).  After spending about 2-3 hours in Dongdaemun 동대문,  we went to Myeongdong 면동.

I went there on my 1st day in Korea on 22 June 2009 Monday. On that day, there was some ground resurfacing work done. When I was there today, there was still ground resurfacing work going on, so if you're going there and you're wearing heels, be careful because the ground's really uneven!

Back to my favourite porridge eatery where everyone decided to follow me and order the mushroom porridge 버섯 죽 for 8,000원 as well. And they didn't regret it :)

The porridge was so delicious that we finished (almost) every grain of it.

Shopping after dinner. I bought 3 basic cotton tunics for 5,900원 each.

Window shopping at Forever21. I used to love F21. But now, I just can't seem to find anything to buy!

Cold Stone Creamery! I love the ice cream and waffle bowl there :) We had the Strawberry Banana Rendezvous for 5,800원.
