I guess everyone was really tired, with most of us running a sleep debt since the trip started. I couldn’t sleep after 9am so Pauline and I left the hotel to explore the area while the rest slept.

We found this place for breakfast:

My 1,800원 egg toast and 2,200원 orange juice:

Wearing what I bought yesterday from Seomyeon 서면 Underground Shopping Centre and Nampo-dong 남포동:

Pauline and I:

After a delicious non-Korean breakfast, we explored the area a little more before proceeding to Haeundae 해운대Beach.

After the rest had woken up, we went back to Sweet Water where they had breakfast before we headed to Beomosa Temple. Back at the café, it was the ajumma who told us that Michael Jackson had died and we were shocked and thought that she was kidding us.
While waiting at the subway, a freaky guy in a lime green jacket kept stalking us. Are we really that foreign-looking?

These jump shots were taken at another station, not the one where the weird guy kept following us.

The Koreans actually queue up in lines at the subway station.

Taking the bus to Beomosa Temple

Walking up to the temple

At a bakery near the bus terminal from which we took the bus to the temple.

If you ever visit this bakery, please do not try their 3,500원 팥빙수 because it isn't as nice as the one we had in 제주도 and instead of having fruits inside it, we had fruit candies and it really was quite weird eating candies with 팥빙수 which is similar to the ice kachang we have back in Singapore.
Taejongdae 태정대
We took the bus all the way down to Taejongdae which wasn't really worth it because for all the travelling and money spent, we only spent about 20 minutes at the pebble beach and we left after that. We didn't know that the Danubi 다노비 was in operation and walked around the area on our own. If we had taken the Danubi, it would had taken us to the observatory centre which probably has a nice view of the area and would have made our visit to the place more worthwhile.

Back at Nampo-dong 남포동 for dinner and shopping.

I love stationery shops! But this time round, I managed to resist the temptation to buy something pretty which I'll never use. Right, Jeannie? I had a shopping basket filled with stickers and other stuff but eventually, I put them all back.

Dinner at Pizza Hut

From a roadside stall, 오뎅.

At Dunkin Donut

Jeannie's and Yong Kang's phones. Yong Kang has 2 girlfriends!

Waiting for the train back to Haeundae Station

At Haeundae Beach around 10/11pm where the 4 of us girls took a stroll by the beach.

Where we were picked up by 3.5 groups of guys. The 1st encounter was the best. 2 guys walked up to us. I can't quite remember the conversation and Jeannie tells it best but anyhow, here's what was kind of said:
Guy 1: You 4 (points at us)...we 4 (points to himself and his group of friends). Want to have a drink together?...Cool, baby.
Jeannie: 남자 친구를 있어요.
There was an awkward silence as we contemplated what to do and how to reply him until Jeannie spoke, telling him we have a guy friend with us and his parting words to us? Cool baby.
So we moved on and continued our stroll before it was interrupted by 2 guys who asked us if we were Koreans. We said no and they left.
And we continued our stroll, only to find 2 guys behind us, talking and apparently strategising how to approach us but I guess they heard us speaking English and left. That's why I classify this as a half attempt.
We made a u-turn and walked back to the point where we were supposed to meet Yong Kang and were approached by another 2 guys along the way. The guy who first spoke to us spoke really fast and only Jeannie caught it initially and repeated his words for us. When he heard us speaking English, he said "'Whoa!" and kind of jumped back. So funny!
So this was our 2nd day in Busan 부산.

Hey Clara, it's me again. You know what...I'm gonna be stalking your blog now. I mean... I'm gonna plan my trip around your trip even though mine will just be over a week (covering Jeju, Busan and Seoul). Your trip was like the ultimate Korea vacation ever! But I'm amazed... how did you guys figure out easily which bus to take and which places to go to in such a foreign place. I guess you had done your homework early then... and I guess your knowledge of the language helped a lot.
It's gonna be a bit of a challenge with essentially little to zero knowledge of the language. And hopefully, the weather is no longer cold around that time when I go end of March, spring.
Hey :) Yes indeed, I'll always remember 2009 for the wonderful summer vacation I had in Korea.
With regards to buses, it was not so much of reading the bus service directory but more of trial and error and learning from mistakes like where to alight and stuff.
We rented a car in Jeju so it was easy getting around placesl; of course, much credit goes to my Korean friend who booked the JejuAir tickets and settled the car rental for me. I guess I don't have to suggest places for you to visit in Jeju.
For Busan, Haeundae is a must! And somehow, I always remember Busan for the shopping too at Nampo-dong and Seomyeon where I found the best culottes ever.
It'll be good for you to pick up some Korean before you go for your trip because you'll be able to bargain with sellers better. Learn the numbers and how to ask for discounts.
I'm not too sure about the weather then! I hope my exchange application will be successful and I'll be in Korea for the next half of this year :)
