Day 22: 20 July 2009 Monday

I had a wonderful day :)

Lunch was at the 2nd Coffee Prince Cafe in Hongdae 홍대.

Guess who used the same menu as me? :) I added on to their message.

The cafe's a really nice place and the service is much better than the other Coffee Prince Cafe's.

The magazines which I definitely have to mail back to Singapore because they're so heavy but the free gifts are good! Nylon came with a free lomo camera.

Ceci came with a free Benefit lipgloss!

Peiyan's green tea waffle

My chocolate waffle. When we placed our orders, the waiter came back to tell us that each waffle is meant for 2-3 persons but Peiyan and I went ahead and each of us ordered one.

It was really delicious and definitely worth the 9,000원  I paid but I won't advise you to eat one whole plate yourself because I couldn't finish it in the end and I felt so stuffed!

Exploring the cafe

We studied in the cafe for about 1 hour or so.

And I couldn't resist reading my magazines.

The pretty 노래방 that Wan Ling and I went to - Luxury 노래방, also in Hongdae area. 10,000원 per hour; 18,000원 per hour after 7pm. It's now my favourite 노래방. The place is beautiful, the service is really good, we got free ice cream and extra 20 minutes of singing time.

Dinner at a Korean eatery where we made/mixed our own bibimbap 비빔밥.

Hey, this question comes a little late. Would you please tell me a bit more where exactly the 2nd coffee prince cafe is in Hongdae? I've been to the first one. Thanks.

Hey, it's behind this cafe ( 3rd picture after the words "Shopping at Hongdae 홍대" as shown here: http://claralala.wordpress.com/2009/07/17/day-18-16-july-2009-thursday/#more-169) so after you pass this cafe, turn left into the lane. And in order to get to this cafe, if I remember correctly, you should turn into the lane with The Coffee Bean, TheFaceShop and Etude House and walk straight down. I hope you'll be able to find it!

Wow you replied pretty fast, thanks. So I guess... there are quite a number of the cafes in Seoul huh? I thought I saw in the internet that one of them is around Gangnam area and one not too far away from Lotte World. And now... you're telling there's another one around Hongdae. That's pretty cool... business must be great for them then.

Anyways, thanks for replying to my questions. I'm an avid fan of the drama and my friends and I are going for a trip to Seoul end of March so this has to be one of the few things I have to do. My previous trip was in Summer 08 and I went to the first cafe, where they filmed the drama.

Hey, may be I could ask you about the must-sees and must-dos while in Seoul?

oh wow... sorry for that. I thought you're still studying in Korea at the moment. I just went to your home page and read that you were there for the Summer. So just ignore my question in the 2nd comment... but again I appreciate your replies.

Hey, no worries! I'm not sure whether there are Coffee Prince cafes in Gangnam and around Jamsil but all I know is that there are 2 in Hongdae.
Here are my recommendations:
For shopping: Sinchon/Edae, Hongdae, Myeongdong, Dongdaemun and my friends say Gangnam too.
For sightseeing: the palaces such as Gyeongbokgung, Namsan Tower, Yeouido, Insadong, Anguk, etc.
Posh areas: Sinsa, Apgujeong, Gangnam, Samcheongdong
