Day 5: 29 July 2009 Wednesday

Today's my second last day in Korea :(

In preparation for my imminent departure, I made a trip to the post office which is just 5 minutes away from the hotel, accompanied by my dearest friends who helped me with my 19.05kg load.

I think this yellow plastic bag of 3 Korean textbooks, 1 Korean grammar book, 1 Korean story book and 3 Korean magazines weighed 13kg.

Mel helped me with Yong Kang's plastic bag of Korean textbooks that were 6kg heavy.

Along the way from the hotel to the post office, I tried to act macho to prove that I'm a strong girl and that I could carry it all the way to the post office. But halfway, my arms felt like breaking so Garima and I took turns carrying it. Thanks G!

Mel helping me to pack my items into the EMS box.

With my 19.05kg EMS box that cost 78,900원 (S$93.37) to mail back. At least it's better than facing excess baggage charges of 22,000원 (S$26.04) per kg at the airport.

Shopping in Myeongdong 명동 before lunch

Lunch at a Korean eatery where I ordered too much food and we were so stuffed :( There was only beef available so G ended up eating her forbidden food.

I love radish kimchi.

To burn off the excess calories consumed during our lunch, we went shopping.

F21 where I finally found something to buy.

Mel got her beige pair of Converse sneakers.

Back to Tea'us for desserts with Mel :) maybe it was part 1 of my dinner. I love this!!!!!!!!! Green apple and Bon bon flavours again but this time, we had the gelato waffle.

At the basement level of Lotte Hotel.

Part 2 of my dinner: ice cream at Coldstone Creamery

After collecting my necklace and Yong Kang's sisters' necklaces from Yes A PM building and shopping for awhile in 이대 area, we headed off to Dongdaemun동대문 for night shopping.

Subway toilet shot

Outside Good Morning City building if I remember correctly.

It was a really long night of shopping. We went to Good Morning City, Migliore, Doota, and 4/5 shopping malls in the Wholesale Market area from 10pm or so till 4.30am!

Resting in Doota Mall with my HUGE black plastic bag of seaweed and citron tea. Even though the bag was too bulky, at least it didn't make me feel out of place when we went to Dongdaemun Wholesale Market because in the wholesale market, buyers were going around with their big plastic bags of clothes and I probably looked like one of them, just that my BIG plastic bag was filled with seaweed, not clothes.

I had a sudden craving for spicy rice cake 똑볶이 at 3am and bought this from a roadside stall for 3,000원 but it was gross :( it wasn't nice at all and the 아줌아 gave me so much that I threw more than half of it away :(

Cheonggyecheon 청계천 stream

Around 4.30am, with aching legs and eyes that were half-closed, we flagged down a cab and went back to the hotel.
