Day 24: 22 July 2009 Wednesday

Most of the ABKs didn't attend the cookery class today because they went for the one yesterday so the kitchen was rather empty and quite a number of us worked alone. I did the cooking by myself because my Morrocan cooking partner wasn't here today and it was quite disastrous -_-

Before the lesson started...

What we made: 안동찡 닭

Mine was disastrous because I added too much chicken broth which made the dish really salty and I had a hard time fishing the vermicelli out of the broth.

The Korean Language Institute which I go to every weekday for my Korean language lesson from 9am to 1pm.

With my closest friend in the NUS-Yonsei Korean Language Immersion program, Wan Ling :)

The Korean language programs offered by Yonsei University

The reason why I didn't gain weight here in Korea is because I/we walk A LOT every day. I've walked from the dormitory to Sinchon Subway Station before and that took 30-40 minutes; from the Korean Language Institute to Sinchon Subway Station; from Ewha Women's University shopping street to the main gate of Yonsei University; I've also walked from 11pm-4.30am in Dongdaemun Wholesale Market, etc.

Today, we walked from the Korean Language Institute to Sinchon Subway Station but along the way, we stopped by for some 팥빙수 (the Korean version of ice kachang).

There was the 1-for-1 promotion whereby each bowl of 팥빙수 patbingsu ordered can be refilled once free of charge.  We ordered 2 bowls of 팥빙수. While the 팥빙수 was delicious, service was bad because we waited for a LONG time to be served our 팥빙수 and they forgot about Beatrice's order.

After our dessert time, we headed to 여의도 Yeouido.

The Han River, 한강 Hangang.

We were there just in time to watch the beautiful sunset.

Hopefully, when I come back to Korea again next August, the construction work for the Hangang Park would have been completed by then. Then, I'll be able to take better pictures of the Hangang because right now, most of my pictures are sadly marred by the ongoing construction work :(

With my room mate, Minqi :)
