When I had just returned to Singapore, I had such grand plans of how I wanted to maintain this blog. But gradually, I fell back into my normal pace of life in Singapore and this blog is no longer a priority in my life as it was when I was in Korea.
The feeling of how I had never left this little island is scary. My life in Korea is becoming more and more like a dream.
Last Friday, Lori (who was in my KUBA orientation group) came to Singapore for 1.5 days. Jeannie and I met up with her for drinks and ice cream and it was a good catching up session!
I love this outfit so much that I wear it quite often as you’ll see in the subsequent photos…not that I don’t have much clothes! lol
I guess things will be harder for her when she returns to New Zealand in September for good because her exchange was 1 year long. Our exchange experience has definitely changed our lives and we’re not the same as before.
For me, I’m doing the same things that I’ve always done in Singapore.
But the heart and way of thinking are now different after having lived on my own for nearly half a year and yearning for a certain someone back there.
These past 7 months weren’t exactly boring for me because I had friends who came to Singapore for holiday and it was definitely great meeting up with them :)
Vi was the first to come in February. Then Martin in February too and Yuya in March.

My dearest blog readers from Brunei, Fadul and Adie, dropped by and we met up too.
Morten, a Norwegian who came to Singapore for exchange 2 years back and whom I met up with in Korea in early August last year, came back to Singapore for 3 days last week and we had such a great time in Marina Bay Sands with his friend ‘Thomas.

My Korean class classmates and I got to meet the Korean students who came with KITA (Korea International Trade Association) when they came to Singapore for a short visit in end April. The friendship night session was so fun! I’m still keeping in contact with 2 of the guys and I hope to meet them if I go back to Korea again :)

During the last semester, I also took my last Korean class in NUS :(
There are no more Korean classes for me to take in my last year as Korean 6 will be the highest level module offered by the Centre of Language Studies.
I wonder if I’ll be able to adjust to university life without Korean classes given how they were such a fixture for me for the past few semesters.
The surprise that I mentioned in my Formspring is that... I had a hair perm done last month!

My hair perm was done by Grace and another Korean lady at Neolive in Square 2. I spent about 3 hours in the hair salon getting my hair done and spoke in Korean throughout the whole time there!
While waiting for the perm to be done, I was kept entertained with a Korean fashion magazine and an iPad. One of the hair stylists even taught me how to play the flower cards (go su 고수)game on the iPad.
UNFORTUNATELY, I highly doubt my curls will last for long. It hasn't been a month yet and my hair's already straightening. And it was a really expensive perm too :( $300 for magic straightening and setting perm!!!
Looks straight, doesn’t it? :( Jeannie and I are interning in the same company and in the same office building too :)
Alright, getting another hair perm isn't the real surprise that I want to share. In fact, I feel like getting my hair re-permed because my curls are straightening but my hair has been “fried" way too many times. The best perm was done when I was in Korea in 2009.
I miss my curls then :(
Oh yes, and I finally got my tax refund in the mail, after nearly 6 months -.-
Today’s the 18th of July.
1 year ago on this day, I was really excited because it was just 2 weeks to the big day- leaving for Korea.
But this year, there is no Korea trip to look forward to.
BUT something special will happen in 1 month’s time.

Someone is coming to Singapore for me!!!!!!!!! A SWEET reunion for a few days :)
Happiness for a week...and happiness for a total of 15 days this year.
But I think it’s a bittersweet affair and I dread the day he returns to Korea because I don’t know when we can ever meet again and whether our relationship can last when he goes to the States for a year long exchange in September :(:(:(
Nevertheless, I really hope that we’ll have perfect weather during the time he’s here!!!
Till then, take care and a beauty post will be coming up soon!
