Ocean Grand Hotel

Breakfast at the hotel with Jeannie and Yong Kang.

At 9.00am, we collected our rented Hyundai Sonata from Avis which sent a man to drop off our car at the hotel.

Thank goodness for the GPS, even though it was entirely in Korean and some places were difficult to search for.

The view outside our hotel:

Car stop for photo-taking:

Teddy Bear Museum
Admission fee was 7,000원.

O'sulloc Tea Museum
Green Tea ice cream for 4,000원 each.

Touring the museum

Our jump shots. (first of many to come)

Pretty flowers.

There’s something with having white cars in Korea, or maybe just Jeju since I haven’t really seen much in other cities.

Lunch at a small eatery along the road

We tried the different types of Korean noodles like Ja Jjang Myeon 자짱면, cold noodles 냉면 and others. My favourite noodles is now 자장면.

Gwakji Beach
A beautiful beach with perfect weather and a clear sky. The water was quite cold too!

Phyllis and Jeannie

Phyllis, Pauline and I doing a failed heart pose.

It was a windy day too.

Tapdong
The car park where we tried to escape paying the car park fee but failed because at the end of the day when we went back to get the car, there was a van parked in front of the car -_-

Checking out Dongmun Market Place 동문재래시장

We talked to some ajumma and they said we speak Korean well and that we are really pretty. I think that when Koreans hear that we can speak more than just annyeonghaseyo 안녕하세요 and kamsahamneeda 감사합니다, they’re quite amazed.

Where we had our 1st and most delicious patbingsu 팥빙수to date.

Mixed with red bean, ice cream, fruits, cereal and more. I love it! It was so delicious that it got us thinking about starting a patbingsu business venture in Singapore.

Yong Kang (our driver for the Jeju trip), Phyllis and I.

Artbox, where I went crazy and bought the most stuff but all for only 22,000원.

At an optical shop where 4 of us made the typical Korean spectacles.

Yes, I know I already have a similar pair but I found one with a vintage-ish bigger frame and UV-coated with astigmatism lens, all for just 33,000원.

Underground shopping mall. I love such shopping areas!

Day 2 was the best day of the trip for me because I went to the places I’ve always wanted to go to and had a wonderful time: Teddy Bear Museum, O’Sulloc Tea Museum, a beautiful Gwakji Beach, trying out the different types of Korean noodles, shopping and eating the super delicious팥빙수. Best of all? A perfect weather (feels like it’s spring when it really is summer in Korea now) and a clear sky.
